1/20/09 ~ Public Assist

At approximately 09:00 hrs Engine 1 was dispatched to 141 S Beach Street for a Public Assist.  
N.C.C.C. Advised Engine 1 that the neighbor in the adjoining house stated water was coming in to
her house because of a broken water line.  The crew gained entry into the basement and found
multiple broken water lines, and shut off the main water supply to the house.  The Box was placed
back in service shortly after.

1/24/09 ~ Furnace Malfunction

N.C.C.C. dispatched a local alarm assignment to 22 South Locust Street for a furnace malfunction.  
Engine 1 responded with a crew of 6.  The box was placed back in service within a half an hour after
crews from Engine 3 and Rescue 5 investigated while Engine 1 secure a water supply.

3/3/09 ~ 2 LZ's in 24 hours

Engine 1 was dispatched to the Mount Carmel Area High School to set up a landing zone for Life
Flight.  Engine 1 respond with 4 and 3 additional crew members responded P.O.V.  A landing zone
was established in the field and the box was placed in service

A local alarm assignment was dispatched later in the day to establish another landing zone for Life
Flight.  Engine 1 arrived on scene along with Engine 3

1/23/09~ Co Investigation

N.C.C.C. Dispatched a local alarm on the 1-1 box for a CO investigation at 229 South Banana
Street.  Engine 1 responded with four and a crew of both Engine 1 and Rescue 5 personnel
proceeded in the residence with the monitor and investigated to find no dangerous CO levels and
the box was then placed back in service.

3/1/09 ~ Possible Chimney Fire

At approx. 12:00 hrs MCFD was dispatched to 230 South Oak Street for a possible chimney fire.
Engine 3 arrived on scene and established a water supply. Engine 1 arrived on scene shortly after at
5th and Oak streets with a second water supply. Truck 2 was on S/A an investigated with a crew
from Rescue 5. Box was placed in service within an hour

6/29/09 ~ Odor of something burning

MCFD was dispatched to 22 E Avenue in the borough for the odor of something burning in the
dwelling. Engine 1 responded with 4 upgrading our staffing to 6 on scene. Units staged while chiefs
investigated with a crew to find a malfunctioning furnace. Engine 1 staged at 2nd and Oak and
prepared to lay in to the rear of the structure. Box was placed in-service within 30mins.

1/26/09 ~ MVA with Fluids Down


At approx. 09:30 hrs a local alarm was dispatched on the 1-1 box for a motor vehicle accident at
6th and Beach streets with fluids down.  Engine 1 responded with three and arrived on scene with
Rescue 5 to find two vehicles with injuries.  Station 1 EMS transported two patients.  The box was
placed in service within approx. 45 minutes.
